Father's Day Gifts - The Best Secret to Presenting Memorable Gifts
Worst Father's Day Gifts
Dads seem to always wind up getting really sorry gifts as compared to mothers.
Of course, my Dad also has put up with it all through the years. However to be fair, for a number of the early years, my Mom affably accepted kitchen gadgets every year.
Dads, however, still usually receive terrible gifts on father's day, also when the children grow up!
How terrible can these father's day gifts get?
We have a list of the most terrible gifts on Earth!
* Gifts that say "WORLD'S GREATEST DAD". Casual shirts. Cups. Neckties. Please stop. All dads have a closet full of "Greatest Dad" gifts. When you are in kindergarten, it's adorable. But not hardly when you reach fifty.
* Neckties. This is one of the gifts for father's day that is a classic. (moan) Who that first dad ever was, to be presented this condemned tie… Why did he say he loved it!!! I am envisioning a caveman wearing a necktie. It's been bad for Dads ever since…
* Cologne. This screams: "Father. You smell bad" Second. This says to Dad, "We are aware that your bathroom already holds a ton of cologne. It makes no difference to us. You can always find space for another."
* Jotted IOU notes or coupons. For back massages, foot massages, and other things. Sweet. But let's get serious. This is what you give your Dad on Father's Day at 7 pm when the stores are closed, and the children forgot to buy a gift. Uh-oh.
* The nose hair remover — no need to say more.
*Cards that sing MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This". Yeah, This is available. (Father's Day Gifts with an MC Hammer kick)
Quotations such as this, from Mark Twain, illustrate the process of a relationship with parents and children that happens with nearly all of us:
When I was a fourteen year old boy, my father was so stupid, I could barely stand the sight of him.
However, when I reached the age of twenty-one, I was amazed at the education the old man gained in seven years.
- Mark Twain
Or this quote, from the dearly departed, Tim Russert:
The older I get, the smarter my father seems to get.
- Tim Russert
Nothing ever replaces a good father. Keeping that in mind, let's aim for a much better memorial for father's day this year.
Best Father's Day Gifts:
There are actually a ton of terrific presents you could give your dad.
In the end, however, the finest father's day gifts are those that are: - Simple. - Earnest. - Unforgettable.
I spent much more time than I meant to, when I was browsing through my photos of my childhood with my Father, recently. Looking over every picture. The thoughts I must have thought when I was laughing at the haircuts and clothing. The memories you share. There is nothing as valuable as a treasured memory, when it comes to our family.
This year let's celebrate the relationship Dad.
Give your Dad the gift of a personal, heartfelt, handwritten Thank You Note for Father's Day.
